There are eleven beaches in and around Newquay each with plenty to see and do. Perranporth has a long sandy beach which is safe for families. The current makes it a good spot for surfers, but bathers should take extra care although lifeguards do patrol the area in high season.
Further along the coast, the towns and villages become more rural, quieter and are very idyllic. St Ives is a picturesque village where the coastline begins to wrap around towards Land`s End, the most westerly point of the UK. The south Cornish coast then takes over and is awash with stunning beaches including those at Mullion and Looe. Like most other Cornish resorts, Looe has a good mix of amenities centred around the harbour and beach areas.
